Kyle James Heating Up At The Speedbowl

-Jordan Hadley Doubles Up-

WATERFORD, CT (August 19, 2017): Kyle James is staring to heat up at the right time, when the checkered flag flew it was James sitting in victory lane in the jamming 107.7 sponsored #21. Eighteen SK Modifieds took to the grid for the 35-lap feature event. The first caution waved as a ten-car incident erupted between turns one and two. Most of the cars were done for the night, including the point leader, Keith Rocco. The restart of the event had James sitting on point and from there it was all James. With the win James now sits atop of the points battle. Rounding out the top-5 included Ted Christopher, Diego Monahan, Stephen Masse and last week’s winner Rob Janovic Jr. Heat wins went to Keith Rocco and Paul Buzel.

In the 30-lap Late Model feature it appeared that it was going to be all Keith Rocco. Rocco shot out to the lead from the outside pole and started pulling away from the field. While Rocco was on cruise control out front it was Anthony Flannery carving his way to the front from his sixth starting spot. On a lap-11 restart Flannery hooked onto Rocco’s bumper and the two pulled away from the field. With a hand full of laps remaining, Flannery got to the outside of Rocco and coming out of turn four Flannery inched ahead of Rocco and took down his second win of the season, rounding out the top five were Vin Esposito, Tyler Chapman and Keith Chapman.

The 25-lap Legends event saw a familiar name in victory lane, Joey Ternullo. For the Middletown, CT driver he kept his undefeated streak alive on a Saturday night event at The Speedbowl. It didn’t take Ternullo long to take over the top sport as he grabbed the lead from his sixth starting spot and basically just pulled away in the #10 Laticrete sponsored machine. Finishing in the top-5 were Anthony Marvin, John O’Sullivan, Jon Puleo and Brandon Remson. Heat wins went to Kyle Rogers and Caddick.

The 25-lap SK Lite feature was taken by Matt Galk0. For Galko it was his first time in a SK Lite at the NLWS. Alan Gombos the regular driver of the Fairfield Sanitation sponsored #25 and Galko stepped in and held off the field for the win. It wasn’t an easy win for Galko as he had to fend off both Dana DiMatteo and Brian Narducci. For Narducci it was his second ever start in a SK Lite and finished for his first podium finish of the year. Rounding out the top-5 were DiMatteo, Narducci, Norm Sears and Chris Gombos. With his second-place finish, DiMatteo took over the points lead for the SK Lite division. Heat wins went to DiMatteo and Wayne Burroughs

In the Limited Sportsman and Mini Stock 25-lap features it was all Jordan Hadley. Hadley all but dominated both divisions on this night. First in the Limited Sportsman feature, what appeared to be Charles Beal race to lose as he took the opening green and pulled away from the field. On a late restart, Beal was battling for the lead with Hadley. As the green flag waved to restart the race Beal slowed on the front stretch with rear end issues. From this point on Hadley just hit all his marks and pulled into victory lane with his third win in the Limited Sportsman division. Rounding the top-5 were Adrien Paradis III, Chris Meyer, Brandon Plemons and Ritt Shawn. Heat wieners in the Limited Sportsman were Monte Gibbs and Charles Beal.

In the Mini Stock feature, Hadley used a late restart and grabbed the lead. Front that point on it was pure domination by Hadley. For Hadley, it was his second Mini Stock win of the season.
