7th Annual Racers 4 Racers Holiday Party and Toy Drive Was A Success

We hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas!  There were many children who woke up Christmas morning to find gifts under the Christmas tree.  That is in part to the generosity of so many of our drivers, teams, staff and fans that attended the 7th annual Racers 4 Racers Holiday party and Toy drive making it a huge success again this year. Thank you to everyone that participated in the event.

Although many people we usually see at the holiday party were not able to attend this year, those that made it, came with plenty of toys for girls and boys in need this year. All the toys went to the non-profit organization Kinship for Kids to be distributed to families in need in the eastern part of Connecticut.

Every year we have a teacup and 50/50 raffle for a Connecticut charity.  This year we chose the charity Circle of Care that is a nonprofit that helps families in Connecticut that have a child diagnosed with pediatric cancer. 100% of the money raised in raffle sales goes directly to Circle of Care. This year we raised $757 to help kids and families dealing the childhood cancer.  Mason Silva, a bandolero driver at the Speedbowl, won the 50/50 raffle and donated his winnings back to support Circle of Care.  A huge THANK YOU to Mason, who truly understands the meaning of Christmas and helping those in need.

So many people stepped up and brought raffle items for our teacup raffle.  Thank you to Maureen Hyland – East Lyme True Value, New England Racing Fuels, Long Island Ferry, Sireci’s Automotive, Marissa Gallo, Triple B Restaurant and Bar, The Crafty Toolbox, Jeremy Washburn and the Silva family for the wonderful raffle items. A special thank’s to Maureen Hyland, Marissa Gallo, Corey Caddick and Brad Voglesong for working the event.

Also, we would like to thank Brian Langley owner of Langley’s Restaurant in Waterford for hosting our event each year.

Mike Serluca and John Sireci held a huge toy drive on December 12th, for those who could not attend the Holiday event at Langley’s.  They collected over 520 toys for Kinship for kids. These two men have such big hearts!!  So appreciative to be able to help them better the community.

Thank you to all who attended the event and made it a huge success.  We wish you and your family a happy and healthy New Year.
