PRO SPORTSMAN SERIES INVADES SPEEDBOWL FOR FIRST RACE
The WTC organization who also runs the Mr. Rooter Pro Truck Series will be debuting their new 375 Pro Sportsman Series during The Speedbowl’s Finale.
The 375 Pro Sportsman Series is like a Street Stock to some and Limited Sportsman to others that run on oval speedways in the area.
The Series is set to kick off for the 2018 season and is in the process of booking tracks for next season. The first race in the Series will be part of the Speedbowl’s Finale Weekend. The two-day event will see the 375 Pro Sportsman hit the Speedway on Friday for group qualifying. Each qualifying group will be ten-laps in length.
The first 375 Pro Series race is scheduled for October 21st which the race will run 35-laps and pay $1000 to win the first event in the Series history.
WTC uses the most advanced equipment to enforce their rules. The 375 stands for 375 horsepower measured at the rear wheels at an approved chassis dyno. This value is a maximum derived form evaluating rules throughout New England. Teams that run the Series may schedule pre-race dyno testing to optimize their cars performance.
WTC specializes in conducting oval and road course events vehicles based on production chassis. Rules will be formulated in a way that the least expensive option has a slight advantage. In the Pro Truck Series, the 602 Chevrolet engine option has emerged as the preferred choice over the open comp motors. Expect the 375 Pro Sportsman Series to move forward with that same cost savings concept while still allowing open comp motors to compete.
